Kathleen's Bio

Kathleen Caputo is a licensed and nationally board-certified acupuncturist and Asian bodywork therapist (NCCAOM) who has been a healthcare professional since 1991. She holds licenses to practice acupuncture in New Jersey and New York.

Kathleen’s educational background includes a Masters of Science in Acupuncture from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Additionally, she completed a one-year postgraduate program in Japanese Acupuncture from the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine; earned a 500-hour certificate of completion from The Center of Practical Energetics in New York City for advanced instruction in Five Element Shiatsu; and has more than 300 hours of additional training in various forms of Asian bodywork and orthopedic massage. She is currently working on her Masters of Herbology at the Eastern School of Acupuncture.

A practitioner of Iyengar yoga for more than twenty-five years, Kathleen has taught hatha yoga at both Mountainside Hospital and St. Barnabas Hospital in New Jersey, at the Montclair (NJ) Adult School and for private clients.

Kathleen has successfully treated patients who have come to her suffering from a wide range of ailments, including acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain (including pain in conjunction w/pregnancy, fibromyalgia, trigeminal neuralgia and TMJ), gynecological issues, and emotional imbalances and stress-related difficulties. She has also designed programs for stroke patients as part of their post-stroke rehabilitation care. Treatment plans are individually tailored and may include any combination of acupuncture, bodywork, moxibustion, cupping, auricular acupuncture and herbal, dietary or exercise recommendations. Kathleen brings a wide background in Eastern medical thought to her work, treats each individual with dignity and respect, and is dedicated to helping every patient experience a better quality of health.
